SUMMARY:Learn to Ride at Monroe Elementary Shared Schoolyard
DESCRIPTION:Link for tickets will be posted here when registration is live. \n  \nCome learn to ride a bike with YBike\, the Y of SF’s Bike Education Program! We provide bikes\, helmets\, and equipment – you just bring your game face and a little determination. We’re limiting this to 4 kids\, each accompanied by a parent/guardian for each session. Because our capacity is so limited\, we’re asking families to sign up for only one of the two sessions we’re offering at each event.
There will be a maximum of 2 YBike instructors during each session. •YBike instructors will explain & demonstrate how to adjust helmets & bike seat height. •Guardians will be responsible for supporting their child with any manual adjustments necessary. •YBike instructors will coach youth and their parent/guardian in the basic steps of learning to glide and pedal. Additional COVID safety precautions: •YBike instructors will provide hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes for all equipment and tools. •No youth will share bikes. •All bikes and equipment will be sanitized before and after the event using a disinfecting solution and/or sanitizing wipes. •All participants\, parents/guardians\, and instructors are required to wear a face mask for the duration of the program. Funded by the SF Safe Routes to Schools Partnership\, managed by the SFMTA. Space Provided by SFUSD’s Shared Schoolyards Program.

SUMMARY:Freedom From Training Wheels
DESCRIPTION:Freedom from Training Wheels is a great way to get kids riding without training wheels! This class is for children ages 2-5. We will have pedal bikes\, balance bikes\, and helmets available for your little one to use (and we will be sanitizing them between students). If you have your own\, feel free to bring it! If you want to start practicing at home\, check out our Parent Tip Sheet with step-by-step instructions. \nYou can register here for one of four time slots. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols\, pre-registration is required:\nA parent/caregiver must stay with their child for the duration of the class. \nThis class will be held as part of Shared Schoolyards. \nCOVID-19 protocols: We will be following the protocols laid out by SFDPH here during this class\, including face coverings\, social distancing\, sanitizing of bikes and helmets between uses\, and reduced class sizes. Masks\, gloves\, wipes\, and hand sanitizer will be available at the class. \nPlease contact Eliana Marcus-Tyler (eliana@sfbike.org/‪415-409-9416‬) with any questions about this program.
